Please join Chef Jacques and team Thursday, March 23rd as we welcome Thomas Woodley, as he presents one of the most exciting producers in Washington state, Avennia. Thomas is National Sales Director for Avennia, and has vast experience in Washington wine, having spent fifteen years with Woodward Canyon.

Avennia is the old Roman name for the walled city of Avignon in the south of France near Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and since its founding in 2010, Avennia has been garnering terrific reviews for its new world wines made in an old-world style. The partnership brings together Microsoft marketing veteran Marty Taucher and Chris Peterson, former cellar master and production winemaker at Delille Cellars, and more recently Seattle Magazine’s 2017 Winemaker of the Year.

The partners have established long-term relationships with some of Washington’s best growers, allowing them to source grapes from the finest parcels of some of the most famous vineyards. Low-intervention winemaking and extensive blending trials result in spectacular wines that are catching more and more attention – and only a few hundred cases are made of each!

After a brief reception, our multi course Chef Jacques culinary dinner will be preceded by a tasting flight of these amazing three excellent Bordeaux-style reds. Two additional delectable Rhône-style reds will accompany Chef Jacques’ cuisine.
