Please join us for our 2nd Glorious Garlic Festival and Virginia’s Bluemont Vineyards Wine Dinner on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 at 4:00pm, hosted on our lovely La Petite Terrace & Grand Tente Garden Terrace.
Calling on all Garlic Lovers! Please join us for our second immersive experience, “Glorious Garlic Festival” and Virginia’s Bluemont Vineyards Wine Dinner! Savor delicious local garlic (a culinary gem, with multiple health benefits) from Chef Jacques’ own garden and Virginia’s only major Garlic Farm, Snickers Run Farms.
Dine in our “Top 100 Best Outdoor Dining Restaurants in America” by Open Table Diners.
Meet the Farmers, Peter and Kathy Durand, dubbed “The Garlic King and Queen of Loudoun County”, as they explain their trade secrets to the art and science of Garlic Farming. Snickers Run Farm locally grows beautiful hard neck garlic varieties using natural and sustainable growing methods for the most delicious tasting garlic and highest quality bulbs you can eat or plant.
We start our Glorious Garlic Festival, on our Petite Terrace (weather permitting) sipping Vampire Killer Martinis (yes garlic is involved), and of course, celebratory Bubbles. Follow Chef Jacques, with bubbles, of course, to his gardens and garlic patch.
For the Grand event, we move to our beautiful covered garden terrace 40ft x 55ft Grande Tente. Complete with eight cooling fans, café bistro lighting, and pastoral views of our six acres, two on-site gardens, koi pond, and blooming flowers, our Grande Tente will be the perfect place for Glorious Garlic Celebratory afternoon and early evening.
Chef Jacques and team have created a delectable Garlic-inspired “Degustation Menu” for us this exciting day, of course with Garlic from the Durand’s Farm. You will sip expertly paired Virginia’s Bluemont Vineyard fine wines, presented by Head Winemaker Scott Spilbring.
“Nestled 951 feet above sea level on the first ridge of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Bluemont Vineyard is a family-owned winery rooted in generations of agricultural heritage. Founded in 2007 by the Zurschmeide family, the vineyard began as an extension of their nearby Great Country Farms, established in 1993. Their vision transformed a once-fallow mountainside into a thriving vineyard that now cultivates over ten grape varietals, including Viognier, Norton, and Cabernet Franc.
Central to Bluemont’s success is Head Winemaker and Director of Viticulture, Scott Spelbring. Joining the team in 2016, Scott has been instrumental in refining the vineyard’s portfolio, emphasizing Bordeaux varietals and introducing natural fermentation techniques that allow the terroir to shine through.
His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2024 Winemaker of the Year at the Loudoun Wine Awards, where his 2021 Cabernet Franc Reserve also secured Best in Category. Scott’s philosophy—that “wine is made in the vineyard and perfected in the cellar”—guides Bluemont’s approach to crafting wines that are both expressive and balanced.
Bluemont Vineyard invites guests to experience its award-winning wines amidst panoramic views of the Loudoun Valley, offering a taste of the family’s enduring commitment to farming, community, and the art of winemaking.”
Be sure to join us and don’t miss this lively, delectable and enjoyable interactive experience this afternoon at L’Auberge Chez Francois for our Glorious Virgina Garlic and Wine Festival. See you there!
