The homegrown tomato is a hallmark of the summer season… and L’Auberge Chez Francois is a benchmark of seasonal dining. Join us for a celebration centered around Chef Jacques’ vine-ripened summer tomatoes, right from his two outdoor gardens.

We invite you to our own Tomato Jubilee at L’Auberge Chez Francois on Sunday 4:00pm just in perfect time for an outdoor celebration, as we have just been named again, one of Open Table’s Top 100 Restaurants in America for Outdoor Dining!

Join us for an afternoon and evening of fabulous Virginia wine and delectable “Fruit of the Summer” cuisine offered on our covered garden terrace 40ft x 55ft Grande Tente, complete with cooling fans, café bistro lighting, and pastoral views of our six acres, two on-site gardens, koi pond, and blooming flowers.

We are honored to host Holly Feraci, Chief Sommelier and National Sales Director, Barboursville Wines, Holly Feraci. The winery and vineyards are one of Virginia’s most honored wines. Barboursville is a magnificent and historic estate outside of Charlottesville. Their wines have been one of the pioneers of fine Virginia wine, garnering numerous awards, and winning the Governor’s Cup a record six times. Barboursville was nominated for American Winery of the Year, and the Monticello AVA was awarded American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast.

The fun and interactive afternoon begins with Chef’s seasonal hors d’oeuvres (think tomatoes) and a crisp glass of Barboursville Brut Rosé Cuvée 1814.

Next, we will sit down to a multi course Tomato centric experience from Chef’s Tomato and Vegetable gardens paired with fine wines from Barboursville Vineyards. Come enjoy the delectable fruit of the summer, with Barboursville Estate, and mais oui but of course, our own Chef Jacques and team. Chef will be conducting tours during the Reception to his Gardens so you can see where the magic of the beloved tomatoes begin!
