Please join us for an extraordinary event on Thursday, August 19th, at 6:00pm for a wine tasting and dinner with our host, Michael Shaps, featuring his fine Burgundies and Virginia bottlings.michael shaps event

Known for his innovation and winemaking expertise, Michael Shaps has established himself at the forefront of the modern Virginia wine industry. Producing wines under the Maison Michael Shaps in France and under the Michael Shaps label in Virginia, as well as consulting for several prestigious wineries throughout the state – one winning the Governor’s Cup in 2017 – Shaps has garnered numerous accolades. 

He holds a degree in Enology and Viticulture from the Lycée Viticole de Beaune in Burgundy and has been making wine in Burgundy since 2004. Both his French and Virginian wines are made in traditional, old-world style, with careful attention to detail but minimal intervention.

Guests will be greeted with hors d’oeuvres and cool, crisp Shaps’ Crémant de Bourgogne, before sitting down for a pre-dinner tasting flight of these highly rated fine Burgundies.

Additionally, three of Shaps’ Virginia offerings will accompany the delectable dinner, which Chef Jacques will create from local ingredients and French technique. We are thrilled Michael will be on hand to introduce his wines and talk about winemaking in Burgundy and Virginia. We look forward to having you join us.  Merci beaucoup and a bientot!
