February 2016 Newsletter

Greetings from Chef Jacques and Paul
As always, a reminder to the guys out there who just remembered that Valentine’s Day is soon: Don’t call me for a reservation! The restaurant has been booked for weeks for Valentine’s evening. Along with New Year’s Eve and Thanksgiving, Valentine’s is one of our busiest nights. If I may, I suggest making a reservation for a romantic dinner at L’Auberge Chez François or Jacques’ Brasserie on another night in February to make up for it.

Now, for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift for your special someone: The Pyramid Valley Vineyards Wine Dinner and the latest installments of our popular Musique et Cuisine dinner series. Give the gift of delicious food and wine to someone you love this year.

We’re very happy to have been shown some love by the food writers at Yahoo Food. L’Auberge Chez François was listed as one of twelve restaurants in the United States that is “totally worth the splurge.” We couldn’t agree more.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all. Remember, love begins in the kitchen.

Pyramid Valley Vineyards Wine Dinner
Please join us Friday, February 19th as our sommelier Alex Bardsley introduces us to the “astonishingly good, terroir-expressive wines” (Wine Advocate) of Pyramid Valley Vineyards. Located in North Canterbury in New Zealand, PVV’s biodynamically-grown, estate Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are “among the finest out-of-Burgundy experiences I’ve ever had”, according to Matt Kramer. PVV also sources fruit from other small growers around the country to produce vivid expressions of other varieties, such as Riesling and Cabernet Franc. Lisa Perrotti-Brown of the Wine Advocate simply calls Weersing and her winemaker husband Mike “wine geniuses”.
