Cooking Demonstrations & Wine Dinners

Chef Jacques Cooking DemoJoin Chef Jacques Haeringer at the award winning L’Auberge Chez François for an entertaining cooking demonstration and delightful meal. Jacques will share his passion for classic and contemporary French cuisine and teach expert cooking techniques and tricks of the trade followed by fine food and wine.

Each event, hosted at L’Auberge Chez François, includes a cooking demonstration hosted by Chef Jacques, followed by a five-course luncheon, paired with three fine wines, recipes for the home chef, paired with three fine wines. A Vintner will be on hand to present and discuss each wine paring, and patrons will have an opportunity to purchase the paired wines at a very special price.

After opening two successful estate wineries in Napa Valley, PlumpJack Estate in Oakville in 1995 and CADE Estate on Howell Mountain in 2005, the partners have created the impressive Odette Estate nestled in the palisades of the Stags Leap District.

Scott Gaffney, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, will guide us through wine pairings that showcase the nuances of all three Estate properties. These properties, from three of the most prestigious appellations within Napa Valley, offer contrasting but "extraordinary" expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Please join us for a wonderful evening as Craig Strange introduces the wines of Dierberg, Three Saints and Star Lane Vineyards. Jim and Mary Dierberg have owned the Hermannhof Winery in Hermann, Missouri since 1974. But the region’s Midwestern climate cannot support European varieties, so the Dierbergs scoured France and California, before finding the ideal region in Santa Barbara County in 1996. These wines certainly reward their efforts.

We are delighted to host the Mary Ann Redmond Jazz Trio at our Musique et Cuisine series on Friday, July 17th. Mary Ann is known for her soulful and wide-ranging vocal style in popular and jazz music. She has won 23 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies) for Blues and Traditional R&B Female Vocalist. Her distinctive voice portrays jazz with potent amounts of blues, folk and soul and Mary Ann is described as “an exciting vocal talent” by Billboard Magazine. The trio also includes guitar bassist, Paul Langosch, who toured with Tony Bennett for 20 years; and keyboardist, Jay Cooley, an accomplished composer and arranger who has appeared with Charlie Byrd and Phil Woods.
