A Jazzy Evening Spectacular at L’Auberge Chez François
Friday, February 26th at 7:00pm

Join us as we continue our Musique et Cuisine dinner series at L’Auberge Chez François on Friday, February 26th, 2016 at 7pm as we welcome jazz vocalist and area-native, Lena Seikaly, presenting jazz classics by American and French composers. This intimate musical evening will feature music from Duke Ellington and the swing era to the Cole Porter songbook to the French gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt -- and much in between -- with Lena on vocals and the great Steve Herberman on guitar.

With three CDs to her credit, Lena Seikaly has been named “one of D.C.’s preeminent jazz singers” (Washington Post) and “a contender for D.C.’s best singer" (Washington City Paper). Most recently, she was selected one of 11 semifinalists in the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition. She appears regularly at various venues in the D.C. metro area, as well as jazz festivals across the country.

Steve Herberman is an internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist with three CDs to his name as a leader, and many more as a collaborator. He has performed with legends such as Keter Betts and Buster Williams, and JazzTimes says of his playing, "his sheer command of the instrument puts one in mind of such jazz guitar masters as Joe Pass."
