Cooking Demonstrations & Wine Dinners

Chef Jacques Cooking DemoJoin Chef Jacques Haeringer at the award winning L’Auberge Chez François for an entertaining cooking demonstration and delightful meal. Jacques will share his passion for classic and contemporary French cuisine and teach expert cooking techniques and tricks of the trade followed by fine food and wine.

Each event, hosted at L’Auberge Chez François, includes a cooking demonstration hosted by Chef Jacques, followed by a five-course luncheon, paired with three fine wines, recipes for the home chef, paired with three fine wines. A Vintner will be on hand to present and discuss each wine paring, and patrons will have an opportunity to purchase the paired wines at a very special price.

What happens when a renowned French chef makes wine in California? After Claude's friend Don Plumley challenged him,
“You are always complaining about California wine, so here is a chance to do what you want,” the two established Soliste.
Inspired by French heros such as Didier Dagueneau and Henri Jayer, as well as “pre-Parker” California bottlings like those 
of Joseph Swan, Mt. Eden and Hanzell Vineyards, Claude Koeberle is committed to discovering and expressing specific terroirs
through wine. The result is wines of precision and balance that are not typically Californian, except in the quality of the fruit.
Claude is a fascinating speaker (listen to his interview on GrapeRadio.com), and the event promises to be remarkable.

Please join us for a tasting of exceptional wines from Carabella Vineyard and meet Winemaker Mike Hallock on Wednesday March 18, 2015 at 6:30 PM. Carabella Vineyard produces elegant estate Pinot Noir, Dijon Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. "It is all about vineyard site." That is the belief of geologist and winemaker Mike Hallock. The vineyard is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA in Oregon's Northern Willamette Valley, the culmination of a twelve year search for a site combining the best criteria of top quality Oregon and French terroirs. Trained as a winemaker in Colorado, Mr. Hallock brought his tanks and equipment over the mountains on a flatbed for the first vintage in 1998.
