Greetings from L’Auberge Chez François and Jacques Brasserie: The upcoming holidays are here at L’Auberge Chez François and Jacques’ Brasserie; our favorite time of the year. Even though this year feels a little bit different, we remain committed to making your dining experience safe, yet still a magical one you will remember.  The extraordinary holiday decorations are being put into place. Our three fireplaces will be roaring inside to warm you and, for those who love cozying up outside, our firewood is stocked for our Jacques’ Brasserie fire-pit. On our specialty cocktail menu is our hot spiced mulled wine and spiced Virginia ciders, perfect for warming the soul.  We’ve added our famous pumpkin mousse cake to the dessert menu this month, and Papa’s traditional yule log will be available just after Thanksgiving.  We’ve also added a series of meals ‘Chez Vous’ (To Go), so you can enjoy our meals from the comfort of your own home if you choose. Our November premier, socially-distanced events are nearly sold out (we have just a few tables remaining at our Grand Boisset Wine Tasting & Dinner next Thursday), but we will be releasing our December events lineup very soon.  As a friendly reminder, we have taken several additional measures in our restaurant. All of our dining options are in socially-distanced rooms (seven feet and more) with high ceilings and new HVAC upgrades. Our dedicated staff, in masks and gloves, limit interactions to only those that are necessary. Let the celebration begin! Drum rolls and champagne toasts!

Announcing our Opening Date, Thursday, June 18th – dinner service! We will then be open for lunch and dinner service every day except Monday and Tuesday with our “Celebrating the Classics” menu (check out our website to view!). We will be offering reservations in the dining room, under Le Grande Tente on our terrace, and in Jacques’ Brasserie and outdoor pavilion. Details are below.

Whether you have celebrated and dined with us once, or many times during our 66 years since Papa and Mama Haeringer began our family business and journey from downtown D.C., to the “French Countryside” of Great Falls, we sincerely appreciate your continued loyalty and patronage.

Our L’Auberge Chez Francois “Celebrating the Classics” prefix menu for lunch and dinner, will be offered on the garden terrace in our grand covered 40ft x 55ft tent.  Complete with plenty of room for social distancing, six cooling fans, cafe bistro lighting and pastoral views of our 6 acres, two on-site gardens, koi pond, blooming flowers, our “Grande Tente” will be the perfect place for your celebration and repast. (Reservations Suggested)

Dine Jacques’ Brasserie & Outdoor Pavillion

The menu and décor at the popular Jacques’ Brasserie are a special tribute to our founder, Papa Francois Haeringer, who opened the original Chez Francois in Washington, D.C. in 1954.  The décor you see in the Brasserie are part of the Haeringer family’s heritage and legacy. Our delectable a la carte Jacques’ Brasserie Lunch and Dinner menu will be both offered inside the Brasserie and at Jacques’ Custom Outdoor & Covered Pavilion. (Reservations suggested)

We encourage you to dine with us at our picturesque Wine and Beer Garden and at scenic tables across our grounds overlooking our on-site gardens and lawns. (No reservations needed; weather permitting

Known for his innovation and winemaking expertise, Michael Shaps has established himself at the forefront of the modern Virginia wine industry. Producing wines under the Michael Shaps label and for several prestigious wineries throughout the state–one winning the Governor’s Cup in 2017–his accolades and national recognition are beyond compare. Mr. Shaps also holds a degree in Enology and Viticulture from the Lycée Viticole de Beaune in Burgundy, and has been making wine in Burgundy since 2004. Both his French and Virginian wines are made in traditional, old-world style, with careful attention to detail but minimal intervention. Sugar Up, Sugar! is a small local pastry business originating in Great Falls Virginia. Leslie Hollander is the Pastry Specialist/Owner and known for her creative flavor combinations.  Leslie creates each chocolate from scratch, made from quality ingredients and chef tested recipes. Team Member of the Month This month we honor Javier Chavez Portillo who joined joined L’Auberge Chez François in July of 2013. Javier started as a dishwasher and quickly moved up to one of our day time prep cooks. Part of his responsibilities include cooking delicious meals for our daily staff meals. Javier always has a smile on his face and is always ready to help with other tasks. Thank you so much Javier for the wonderful job that you do!  Monsieur François Competition Congratulations to Stephanie G. of Fairfax Station, Virginia for winning the September Monsieur François’ Profile Embellishment Competition.
